This video, called "Lauren's Cartoon," is humorous because it is an example of reductio ad absurdum. The video is a chronicle of a little girl's imagination that more or less makes no sense. It is funny that someone would think of such an absurd story, made funnier by the fact that it is a little girl. Through the story we can see that which is most prevalent in this girl's life, namely Dora the Explorer and Jesus, an unlikely combination. Also, by the creator of the video illustrating the narration, we can see even better how truly absurd Lauren's story is.

The name of the video is "what if beauty ads told the truth?"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEuSMKZh8a8&feature=popt17us11
This video is funny because it is a parody of commercials that falsely advertise beauty products to women. It is reframing these type of commercials and basically making fun of them and speaking the truth. It is also a form of exaggeration by using all the examples for why these commercials are telling lies. They take this commercial concepts and magnifying them to look very ridiculous therefore becomes funny. You can even say they use schadefreude because they are taking pleasure into making fun of all the ridiculous beauty product commercials.

This is clinkedylinkedy1's vlog. It is funny because it is reductio ad absurdum and magnifies the point of how words and abbreviations sound that can either make you cringe or really excited when you hear it. This requires some contextual information such as familiarity with the English language and NorCal and Southern California slang. It's also a little bit of hyperbole because no one really has a gag reflex type of reaction to saying or hearing some words, but that is what she portrays.

Pizza Time

The video could be considered funny because it spoofs the Diogiorno commercials. The spoof uses the method of exaggeration by emphasizing the person who receives the pizza's disgust at the fact that they were given frozen pizza rather than delivery pizza. It can also fall into the category of reductio ad absurdem because of the absurdly exaggerated reaction that was had. It is an unexpected outcome for such a simple act.

The humor of this video lies in its exaggerated take on the current cultural obsesession with effortless weight loss methods, teetering on the edge of social inappropriateness with its focus on rather disgusting subject (intestinal parasites!). It should be accessible to anyone in the broader Western cultural sphere, and increasingly, in other cultures as well as weight loss becomes a concern, there, too. It fails to fully live up to its potential for absurdity by bearing an uncanny resemblance to actual tapeworm diet promotions.

The humor in this video is exaggeration. My friends and I created this video exaggerating the many things our friend Michael does. Many of the lines said are exactly what he says and we reframed it using a stupid voice. The dances he does are ridiculous already so we exaggerated how his dances go. Also, we exaggerated the way he leaves because of his curfew.
